Terms of service

What you get, what we owe you, what we ask back.

The agreement between you and Cupkey. By making an account you accept it, so it is written in the shortest plain sentences the subject allows.

Last updated 27 September 2026 Effective 27 September 2026 Privacy policy
The short version
The planner stays free.
Nothing that is free today moves behind the paywall later. Pro adds new things on top.
Pro bills when Pro ships.
Buy today and you lock the price. Nothing is charged until the AI features go live, expected within 30 days.
Your work is yours.
You own what you write. We get only the permission needed to run the service for you, and we don’t train models on it.
Leave whenever.
Cancel in settings, no email required, no retention call. Export your data on the way out.
1

Who can use Cupkey

You need to be at least 16, or older if that is the age of digital consent where you live. If you are signing up on behalf of a company, you are confirming you are allowed to agree to this on its behalf. Cupkey is operated from Chennai, India, at cupkey.io, and these terms together with the privacy policy form the agreement between us.

2

Your account

Give us accurate details when you sign up and keep them current. Your login is yours to look after: do not share it, and tell us at hello@cupkey.io if you think someone else has it. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.

One account is for one person. If a team needs seats, that is a team plan, not a shared login.

3

Plans and billing

There are three plans. Payments are taken by our payment processor; we never handle your card directly. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we are required to add.

Free$0, with no time limit. The whole planner, and it stays that way. Nothing that is free today will later move behind the paywall.
Pro$10 per month, renewing monthly until you cancel. Cancel at any time and it runs to the end of the month you have paid for.
Annual welcome$12 for a full year of Pro, limited to the first 10 accounts. After those are taken the annual price becomes $16. If you are one of the 10, your $12 holds at every renewal for as long as the subscription runs without a break.

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period, at the price you are on, until you cancel. If we ever change the price of a plan you are already on, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.

If a payment fails we will try again and let you know. If it keeps failing, the account drops to Free rather than being deleted, and your data stays where it is.

4

When Pro starts

Pro’s AI features are not live yet. We expect them within 30 days of the date at the top of this page, and that is an estimate rather than a promise of a specific day.

If you take Pro or the Annual welcome now, you are locking in the price. Your first payment is taken on the day the AI features go live, not when you sign up, and every renewal is counted from that day. Until then you are on the free planner and you owe us nothing.

If we decide not to ship the AI features at all, we will tell you, cancel the arrangement, and you will not be charged.

5

Refunds

You can have your first payment back in full within 14 days of it being taken, which is 14 days after the AI features go live, not 14 days after you signed up. No reason needed. One refund per customer.

Renewal payments are not refundable, because you can cancel before any renewal and we will remind you. If we cannot deliver what you paid for, that is different and we will sort it out.

Where consumer law where you live gives you a better right to cancel or a refund, that law wins over this section.

6

Your content

Your tasks, notes, timing records and anything pulled in from a calendar you connected belong to you. We do not claim ownership of any of it.

You give us a limited licence to store, copy and display that content strictly to run Cupkey for you: showing it back to you, backing it up, packing it into your day, and producing the summaries you ask for. The licence exists to operate the service and nothing else, and it ends when you delete the content or the account.

We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not licence it to anyone else to do so.

7

AI features

AI summaries, work reports and recaps are generated from your own records, and generated text can be wrong. It may misread what a task was, overstate what got done, or miss something that mattered.

Read anything Cupkey writes before you send it to a manager, a client or an interviewer. You are responsible for what you pass on, and for anything that follows from it.

8

The cap is guidance

The 80% cap, the warnings, the utilization figure and the estimate-against-actual numbers are there to help you make your own call. They are not professional advice about your workload, your health or your employment, and Cupkey telling you a day is full is not a reason to miss something you were obliged to do. What you commit to at work remains between you and whoever you work for.

9

Integrations

Connecting Google Calendar, Outlook or anything we add later is your choice, and you can disconnect at any time. Those services have their own terms and their own privacy policies, and your relationship with them is separate from this one.

We cannot control whether a third party changes its API, its pricing or its rules. If one of them stops working, we will say so and do what we can, but we are not liable for their outages or their decisions.

10

Acceptable use

Do not use Cupkey to break the law. Do not try to get into accounts, data or systems that are not yours, or probe ours for holes without asking us first. Do not reverse engineer, copy or resell the service, scrape it, or run it through automated tools that put load on it.

Do not upload malware, spam other people through anything we build, or use the community side of Cupkey to harass anyone.

If you find a security problem, tell us at hello@cupkey.io before you tell anyone else. We will not come after you for reporting it in good faith.

11

Emails we send

Some emails come with the account and cannot be switched off: password resets, receipts, notice of a price change, and anything about security. Everything else, including product news and anything we would call marketing, is optional, and one click unsubscribes you.

12

What we own

Cupkey itself, the software, the design, the name and the logo, belongs to us. You get a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use it while your account is open. That licence does not let you copy it, rebrand it, or build a competing product out of it.

13

Feedback

Tell us what to build, and we may build it, without owing you a fee or keeping it confidential. This is not us claiming your ideas in general, only the suggestions you volunteer about Cupkey. If you would rather an idea stayed yours, do not send it.

14

Ending it

You can cancel or delete your account from settings at any moment. No email, no phone call, no retention offer. Export your data first if you want it; the privacy policy explains what happens to the rest.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks section 10, that is being used fraudulently, or where we are legally required to. Where it is not urgent we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.

If we ever shut Cupkey down, we will give at least 60 days’ notice, leave export working for the whole of it, and refund the unused part of anything you have paid.

15

What we don’t promise

Cupkey is provided as it is. We work hard on it, but we do not warrant that it will be available without interruption, free of bugs, or correct in every calculation, and we do not promise it will make you more productive.

To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Where you are a consumer, nothing here removes rights your local law gives you.

16

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost revenue, lost opportunities, or lost data beyond our own failure to keep backups as described in the privacy policy.

Our total liability to you for any claim is capped at whichever is greater: what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD $100.

None of this limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited.

17

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to the courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring a claim in the courts where you live, and the protections of your own consumer law apply regardless of this section. Either way, email us first: most of this gets solved in one reply.

18

Changes

We may update these terms. For anything material we will email you and show a notice in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect, and if you do not accept it you can cancel before then. Small corrections, like a typo or a clearer sentence, take effect when we publish them and the date at the top changes.

19

General

These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us about Cupkey, and they replace anything said earlier. If a court finds one part unenforceable, the rest stands.

Not enforcing something once does not mean we have given it up. You cannot transfer this agreement to someone else; we can transfer it if the business is sold, on the terms in section 6 of the privacy policy. Sections 6, 12, 13, 15, 16 and 17 survive the account being closed.

20

Contact

Anything about these terms, billing included, goes to the same address as everything else.
